Mod Blossoms - Nicole by OPI Tink Nail Art

In today's nail art, I've used two more of the Nicole by OPI Tink Collection shades. If you missed my first Tink nail art post, be sure to check it out!

The orange polish in this look is Nicole by OPI Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary. This tangerine creme is really nice, it applied well and had an interesting tone. It's bright while still maintaining a slight dustiness, which makes it a great transition polish from summer to fall. The pink shade is Nicole by OPI Tink's In the Pink. I believe I used two coats of it here as the base of the manicure, and I didn't have any troubles with formula or opacity. I also grabbed white polish to make the orange detailing pop out of the pink background. I think these colors work so nicely together!

This design had no particular inspiration. I started out with intentions of doing a full nail floral but changed it up shortly after I had started. While I have a deep love for floral prints, this time I wanted to take it in a different direction.

I freehanded the two flowers in the "half moon area" and then added some dotted accents with a dotting tool. The dots make me think abstract floating pollen... or something. Also, if you squint, the two middle nails look like strawberries!

Regardless, I started calling the design mod blossoms in my head. It just stuck, and here we are. I think it's fitting!

What do you think of this design -- is it your style, or not so much? I think it's definitely out of my usual box but I'm really liking the way it turned out. I guess it pays to push your boundaries!

Nicole by OPI's Tink Collection is available beginning this month in select Walgreens locations. Each polish retails for $7.99.

  6. Pretty color combo. I used to have a favorite pair of PJ's in those colors pink and orange. I forgot until I saw this design and it brought that memory back. My mom sewed them for me out of a fabric that was the same colors and of course it had big mod seventies flowers.
