These nail tattoos are easy, fun, and sassy. The designs are awesome -- I couldn't pick just one! So I jammed a bunch of them together. Not sure what to call it though... graffiti nails? Collage art? Clipart manicure? What do you think?
- Apply your base polish and let it dry completely.
- Cut the tattoo you want to use out of the sheet.
- Remove the clear top sheet. Press the tattoo (image side down) on to your nail. BigRuby makes it easy to place these where you want them because they have the image reprinted on the back side of the sheet!
- Wet the back of the tattoo and press down for 15 seconds. Remove the paper.
- Smooth your tattoo out (if needed) with a wet finger.
- Let dry and finish with two coats of topcoat.
Even that makes it seem more complicated than it is though -- basically the steps are cut, stick, wet, smooth, and finish.
I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base polish, and all of these tattoos came from the "Hers" tattoo set. BigRuby also offers a bunch more tattoo pack themes like "His," "Sea," "Garden," and "Juju," among others!
Obviously I piled a TON of tattoos on my nails, but you could use one or two as an accent if you want a simpler manicure. I actually have a couple of looks saved up that only use single tattoos, but I just couldn't wait to share this crazy one with you.
You can buy bigRuby tattoos on www.bigrubytattoos.com. Each pack retails for $12, though they have a few packs on sale right now, too! You can also find the brand on Twitter.

ReplyDeleteMay I also ask you a question on My Boyfriend Scales Walls? Do you know, by any chance, how well it works under neon polishes? x
OMG I love these!! I had to take a peek--they have elephants! flying pigs! COOL!!!! I will have to get some, thanks for the recommendation :) Your nails look fab--I'd say almost tokidoki type mixed with tattoo art--very fetching :)
ReplyDeleteReally cool looks. I had similar tatts last year. I might get a bunch of new ones this month so your's are really inspiring. I still need to figure out what kind of style i want to apply next. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great concept. Doing your nails takes a lot of time and I love to find fast a new ways to do things. I think this works from 3girls1apple.com
ReplyDeleteI love all these jumbled together. On their own, they just remind me of something you could achieve with stamping. But altogether they look very cool and different!
ReplyDeletei love this look of this! so awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's true - tattoos/decals/wraps are all pretty much easier and cleaner than stamping! And no extra accessories needed to achieve them either.
ReplyDeleteGood point!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Sarah! I'm on a hunt for the best neon underwear, and the MBSW's praised formula sounds quite promising. :D
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA Sarah! I have heard of these before and all I can say is 'you would!' this is so you, unexpected and awesome! thanks for this post! xox
ReplyDeleteLOL! Glad you like! :D
ReplyDeleteI actually really like these! I have fallen in love with stamping, but it can be hard to get them exactly where you want them, so these would be fun.
ReplyDeleteI love how they looks together! So fresh!
