The Lacquer Legion Adoration: I Adore Nail Art

I was brainstorming for The Lacquer Legion's "Adoration" prompt and, while there are many things I adore in the world, nothing seemed more appropriate for my post than nail art dedicated to... nail art! This manicure represents how much brighter nail art has made my life. Doing nail art, wearing nail art, looking at nail art, talking about nail art, I love it all.

Raiding My Drafts: Blushing Peach Gradient

Sometimes I do a manicure and upload it to my drafts, but then something happens and it never gets published. Either I have too many other things to post and then too much time passes, or I fall out of love with the look, or some weird Twilight Zone stuff happens and I basically forget that it's in there. I have been busy with behind the scenes blog stuff lately, so I thought it would be fun to raid my post drafts for a new look to share with you today.

This blushing peach gradient was a reject from the 31 Day Challenge; I ended up posting leather gradient nail art instead. Seeing this look now though, I find it quite pretty, and great for the ever-warming Arizona springtime.

Girly Bits' A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed

I love when nail polish names have a good bit of cheekiness to them without taking it too far into inappropriate territory. Girly Bits' second anniversary polish, A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed, finds a sweet spot with its funny name and the mega sparkles to back it up.

This polish is awesome for three reasons.

Pink Perforated Leather & Diamonds

If your Facebook feed hasn't made it obvious enough: it's Valentine's Day! For my holiday manicure, I chose to go with something sweet and cute but with a little bit of quirk. Enter the perforated leather technique, which I first showcased in my Lacquer Legion post. It certainly looks different in pink, but honestly I am still just as in love with this now as I was then. A silver texture finishes off the look with lots of sparkle.

Free Valentines for Nail Polish Addicts

I've been seeing some really cute Valentines popping up lately, and I got to thinking that it'd be fun to make some for us nail polish addicts! Hit the jump for four Valentines that you can give your nail polish bestie to express how much you really care about them. Thanks to MY polish bestie, Rebecca Likes Nails, for helping me brainstorm ideas. You're the rainbow in my holo.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gold Dust - Sexy In Sequins and Hidden Gems

Being the texture obsessed blogger that I am, when I came across the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Gold Dust collection in my local Target, I had to pick up a few. They had a lot of metallic looking shades, but the two that caught my eye were both dark bases with glints of color. I purchased Sexy In Sequins and Hidden Gems.

Sweetheart Tips - Zoya Naturel Collection Nail Art

With Valentine's day right around the corner, this sweetheart nail art is a great option for people who want to do something festive and romantic but that don't want to go the classic red/pink route. The Zoya Naturel Collection contains six shades of nude and rosy hues, and I've combined three of them together in today's soft-and-sweet look.

The Lipstick League – Week of 2-3-14

Question of the Week: Is there a makeup application technique that you’ve tried to master, but just can’t seem to conquer?
Sarah's Answer: I'd love to be able to do a cut crease, but I don't yet have that kind of precision with my shadow. Plus, I'm not sure it would show up well on my hooded lids!

Pink Sith - is positively blushing at the name of the NARS Blush called “Sex Fantasy”. Not that she’s a prude or anything.

Prime Beauty - has finally found her Prince Charming...kinda. He is just one of the many calorie-free limited edition treats from the Valentine's Day Collection at LUSH! Indulge yourself and your sweetheart with no guilt! Trust me, you'll want to stock up.

Phyrra - Phyrra share all of her favorite Complexion Perfection products. Find a new favorite foundation here!

we heart this - Mega pores? Yeah, us too. Check out the latest from the Benefit POREfessional line and it can be our little secret.

Chalkboard Nails - created a geometric nail art look using the neutral shades from the brand new OPI Brazil Collection.

Clumps of Mascara - has come across an amazing mascara. No seriously. Too Faced's Better Than False Lashes is one of the coolest mascaras that I have ever tried.

Gouldylox Reviews - These five hairsprays will change how you handle your hair.

My Beauty Bunny - Manis, manis, manis! Jen and friends get ready for Valentine's Day with gorgeous nail art from Plush Beauty Bar. Come look and see.

Nouveau Cheap - Do you like the idea of long-wear lip colors, but hate the moisture-sucking properties that often go along with them? These might be just the ticket (and they’re only $3.50 each)

Guest Post of the Week, as chosen by Pink Sith - A simple yet lovely blog post about beauty. Here is a beauty epiphany from Alice In Nappyland and what a $1.99 lipstick taught her.

Geometric Faceted Neutrals - OPI Brazil Nail Art

While I originally guessed I'd be drawn to the brights in OPI's Brazil collection, when I got them all together, I really responded to the way the four neutral/earth tones looked. I couldn't get the group of them out of my mind. I had a hankering for some geometric nail art, and for this look I drew some of my inspiration from a DIY geometric necklace tutorial.

Super Bowl XLVIII

As I'm sure you're aware, today is Super Bowl XLVIII. I had to do some nail art for the occasion, but as I don't really have a team preference today (maybe slightly leaning towards the Broncos), I thought I'd take the opportunity to work on some freehand lettering and paint the Roman numerals.
