It may not be the holidays anymore, but the Contrary Polish Holiday 2012 collection is still available and still gorgeous! Let's take a look at these beauties, and then later today I will have the Love Lyrics collection for you to check out, too.
Each polish is shown in indirect light first and direct light second.
Let's begin with my favorite of the bunch - Spruce! It's a stunning blackened green with amazing gold flecks throughout it. I used three coats for photos but you will need two.
Adorned is a really interesting gold flake topcoat. The flakes are on the smaller side but still retain a cool chunky quality. I've layered it here over my favorite Contrary Polish of all time, Santorini.
Bauble is a gorgeous syrupy red jelly with silver shimmer and microglitter. I used three coats but again you will probably only need two!
Candle Light is described as a soft black with scattered gold shimmer. At first I was unsure how a black could be a "soft black" but the more I thought about it, the more I felt that was accurate! I'm not sure how... but it is. I used three coats.
Frozen is a white polish with blue microglitter and silver shimmer. It's a really great alternative to wearing a stark white! It went on a little streaky at first but evened out perfectly after three coats.
Mystery is really quite mysterious! An olive toned brown, this polish has an intense bronze shimmer. It really comes alive in direct light. I used three coats.
The formula for all of these was great. Frozen was the most difficult in the bunch but was not bad by normal standards, especially knowing that it is a white polish. Contrary Polish really knows how to make 'em!
So, tell me about your favorites! I am loving Spruce and Frozen most, but they are all great.
Full size contrary polishes are available on Llarowe, and through international stockists Femme Fatale Cosmetics and Shoppe Eclecticco. Mini polishes are available through the Contrary Polish blog. You can also keep up with the brand on Facebook.
