Nail Art Contest: Cool or Warm

Who's ready for another nail art contest?!

I loved loved loved how many of you participated in my last nail art contest. I saw so many amazingly creative manicures and was pleased to see people excited about submitting.

This time, the prize is sponsored by The New Black. In a nod to their color-coordinated ombre sets, I've decided to make the theme "COOL COLORS" or "WARM COLORS."

This means that your manicure must be made using only warm colors or only cool colors. Choose one and rock that color palette!

THE RULES:
  • Only one entry per person, please!
  • You must choose either warm colors (red, orange, yellow, pink) or cool colors (green, blue, purple, teal). Black and white are freebies. You do not have to use all of the colors in the color temperature you choose.
  • You must do these designs on your own nails (no nail wheels, please).
  • Your design must be new.
  • Stamping, decals, wraps, and stickers are not allowed.
  • Acrylic paint is not allowed.
  • You must submit your designs through the Inlinkz tool at the end of this post between now and September 19th, 2012.
  • This contest is open to residents of the United States. The prize will be shipped out directly from The New Black.

THE JUDGING:
Submissions will be judged on creativity, originality, and execution. Submissions will be judged by a panel of non-participating bloggers and myself. The panel will be chosen by me. All decisions are final, and will be made at the discretion of the judging panel.

 HOW TO SUBMIT:
  1. Get inspired, and then do your nails!
  2. Take photos of your nails, and then post them on your blog or on a free online photo host like Picasa, Photobucket, or Flickr. If you have a blog, this is a great opportunity to get some exposure! Links back to this contest are appreciated but not required.
  3. Click the button at the end of this post to add your entry. Fill out the required fields, including the URL where the judges can find your entry, and submit it.

THE PRIZE:
There will be one winner. The winner of this contest, as decided by the panel, will get to pick three of the four ombre sets shown below!

GOOD LUCK!

    1. It depends on what shade of brown I guess! As long as you are making an effort to stay within the color temperature, you should be fine. :)

    2. I always thought Brown was a warm color, no? I'm thinking chocolate colored, so on the darker , sweeter side.

    3. I had a question about decals...do you mean just the regular manufactured decals you can buy are not allowed? What if I make my own out of nail polish?

    4. That's fine! I just meant the manufactured ones like water decals or BigRuby nail tattoos!

    1. Yes, it's a shipping restriction set by the sponsor. Maybe you could find a US resident that could accept the prize for you and pass it on?

  3. Puerto Rico should be fine right? We have the same postage system but some people don't know it's easy to ship here...

    2. This sounds amazing! Although I am in Canada - if I were to win (ha!) - would it be okay to enter if I had a place to send it within the US??

    1. Yes, that's fine! I just don't want someone grabbing something from their archives and throwing it in the contest.

  8. I so want to enter but no acrylic paint! Gosh! I will probably still try and enter but my nail polish art stinks! I am brainstorming though!

  9. Sorry ^^ but I like the "no acrylics" rule, it stuck out immediately to me. It gives a more fair advantage to those of us who have no artistic background or skills, or maybe who simply do not own acrylics or wish to use them. Thanks for another contest! I haven't entered any...yet...but I sure do enjoy watching & sometimes even learning!! I feel like free hand nail art is dying out with all the stamping & such, that's a sad thing, but this is a great way to keep it alive & well!!!
