Dusky Gradient with Gold Leaf

Remember when real gold leaf nail polish was all the rage, and every brand plus their moms came out with a variation? Then the craze seemed to rapidly die off, perhaps because the materials are difficult to get a hold of? This nail art was created during that time. That's right, it's time for another edition of: Spring Cleaning Out My Drafts!

I am 80% sure that this manicure used:
China Glaze Surreal Appeal
China Glaze Creative Fantasy

The gold leaf topcoat is Cirque Au.

I like the dusky combination of colors in this manicure with the gold flecks -- almost like fire embers flicking up from a beachy bonfire or something. I think, given the chance to do it again, I would replace the coral color with something a little pinker.

Did you get into the gold leaf trend?

This is really pretty!! The colours go great together, I really wanted to get into the trend, it looked so fancy!! But alas I felt the gold leaf topcoats were too pricey for me :)

  3. This is gorgeous and reminds me of a fall sunrise!! Isn't it great when you go cleaning through swatches and you find one you have yet to post!! Easy peasy!! I love the gold toppers, I have I Can See Your Holo from Wingdust and even though it's the only gold flake I own, I cherish it!!!

  5. I think the coral is just the perfect color for this gradient! It really looked like a bonfire! That's cool!
Personally, I didn't get into this trend (gold leaf).. I thought it was too pricey for something I put on my nails :P

  6. 80% sure. LOL. If I don't write my polishes down that day, the next week I'd probably only be 50% sure. That's because I suffer from mom brain. I've never owned any gold leaf polish, and I still want some!

I have to say, I am still really into gold topcoats. I use them all the time - I think any glitter or special topcoat helps to even out gradients :)

  16. I love the way the gold flakes bring these shades together. Very sunset over the ocean, and I absolutely see the bonfire embers! Hah, I was so looking forward to platinum/silver flake being the next thing after the gold thing, but it didn't really get here...unless you count the crazyexpensive Mariah Carey ones, which I neglected to spend my money on. :(
