70's Style Polka Dot Floral Print
This 70's style, fall-appropriate floral is my polka dot nail art for the 31 Day Challenge. It looks fairly complex at first glance, but it's simple when you start to break it down! I just combined dots together in different sizes and colors to create a simple floral pattern. It feels very vintage, don't you think?
Nail polishes used:
DIOSA Dime Piece (light grey)
Jessica Cosmetics NY State of Mind (dark grey)
Jessica Cosmetics Meet at the Plaza (olive green)
Color Club Je Ne Sais Quoi (mustard yellow)
LVX Roux (coral)
American Apparel Berry (burgundy)
This nail art was really very simple, it just took a bit to put all of the unique dot floral pieces together! I used four different dotting tool sizes: my large flat rhinestone picker, a large dotter, a small dotter, and a pinpoint dotter.
I was just about ready to mattify this, but I've been using matte topcoat on so many things lately. I decided to let it rock the glossy look.

That is so optimistic and powerfull! And seems not too difficult, except for the time-consuming dot, dot, dotting :) I may want to recreate, if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteThis is outstanding, I love it!
ReplyDeletePlease do!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteThis such a fun and funky floral print! Love that you created it with a bunch of polka dots too.
ReplyDeletehow do you manage it, that the dots are not bleeding? is there a special secret or just the right top coat? BTW really nice mani!
ReplyDeleteYou mean smearing? That is dependent on the topcoat. I used Glisten and Glow HK Girl here but also like Seche Vite.
ReplyDeleteLove it <3

This is so cute Sarah! I will admit I'm not a huge fan of 70's patterns omg the clashing that went on in that era but these are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love this. You made simple dots into this gorgeous design! longhairprettynails.com

ReplyDeleteso cute^^
Amazing. You are the Queen of the patterns! :-)
ReplyDeletewhat amazing work! The colours and pattern works perfectly together. You're a creative genius! :)
ReplyDeleteIn addition to what Sarah replied, also it's all in *how* you apply the topcoat. You want to use a very light touch, almost "floating" the polish over the design, and use as few strokes as possible. :)
ReplyDeleteLooooove!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing you have so many cool ideas I'm jealous :/
ReplyDeleteAaaah, this is so so cool! The colors are perfect, the patterns as well and if you wouldn't want to put in a lot of time, 2 nails with this pattern would make perfect accents as well :).
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely very 70s! Love it!
