31 Day Challenge, Day 16: Tribal

Oh gosh you guys, this day was HARD! This was my first time using a striper brush, and let me tell you, I do NOT have it down yet, haha. Also, I decided to add the yellow at the top after I added the vertical black stripes, so in some places it left a little to be desired.

I'm proud of this design though! I'm still learning and practicing, and I just made this up on the fly loosely based on some other tribal nail designs that I have seen before.

This design took forever to do on the nails, and I was absolutely DREADING doing my right hand after finishing my left. Not only was I afraid that it was gonna take forever, but also using my non dominant hand on such an intricate design was tricky. I survived though.

China Glaze Peachy Keen
OPI A-Taupe the Space Needle
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky
Sinful Colors Striper in Time Off

I'd like to continue to improve on this particular technique, the outcome was really beautiful and you can barely see any of the imperfections at arm's length. Isn't that the trouble with having a nail blog with close up pictures? All of your mistakes are in focus, when you wouldn't normally see them in person. :)

  1. This is amazing-one of my faves yet! And I'd like to see what you do when you do have it down with your striper brush! I mean I can't even do a friggin dot!
