Cirque Colors Holo Gradient

Hello! The weekend is almost over, so to console your saddened heart, I'm sharing an indie brand holo gradient. Any manicure that includes those three things is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

This gradient (tutorial here) was made using Cirque Colors Never Nude and Cirque Colors Fascination Street, polishes from the Dark Horse Collection. These first three photos from inside my lightbox serve as the "in the shade" photos of this manicure.

Never Nude is a beautiful champagne colored holo polish. Fascination Street is a blue-toned purple holo. I did a wheel swatch of Fascination Street vs. DS Glamour, and Fascination Street is decidedly more purple. Interestingly enough, though, the quality of the holo particles seemed very comparable to me.

I used Never Nude for my base, and it applied really well over Nfu Oh's Aqua Base. It was completely opaque with two coats and I didn't have a single hint of an issue with streaking or dragging. As for wear time, I had a chip the next night, but that is kind of par for the course when you are working with holos.

Here are the "direct sun" photos of this manicure (I just moved the light inside the lightbox instead of having it on top). The holo is really strong and it looks neat with the gradient effect.

All Cirque polishes are .45oz and 3-free. They are scented with lavender and clary sage oils, which I could smell while applying and directly after finishing this manicure, though the scent didn't last very long past applying topcoat and washing my hands. These holographic polishes cost $16, while the other polishes listed in this collection cost $12.

A couple of words now about Cirque Colors, which is a new indie brand to me. This brand has impeccable professionalism. The polishes have embossed labels that look like they came from a big-time luxury brand, and the website is beautifully thorough. I am impressed with the consistency of the product photos, in particular. If you are looking for an extra touch of luxury in your handmade brands, Cirque may just be your answer.

I have a couple more Cirque Colors to show you in the future, so definitely keep your eyes open for them. In the meantime, check out Cirque on Facebook or at their website. If you live in New York, you can also check out Cirque products at the Hester Street Fair!

  3. That's really an awesome mani! Until this day I was not successful with holo gradient but I usually use the technique where I apply a couple of polish lines on the sponge and then bounce it on my nail. Maybe I should give Sammy's technique a try!
    Thanks!!!

This may be a really stupid question... but I wonder: is your lightbox black?? because the background is so dark
