So let's start with the obvious here: it's a fishtail chevron manicure! I've made a video tutorial for this technique before, so make sure to check it out if you want to give this look a try. But don't be fooled -- not only is it just a fishtail, but it's also an ombre... and it has a naked nail base. Phew!
I believe the colors I used in the ombre were China Glaze Purr-fect Plum, Sally Hansen Twisted Pink, OPI If You Moust, You Moust, OPI Sparrow Me the Drama, and OPI Steady As She Rose.
The black is OPI Black Onyx.
What do you guys think of this look? Are you a fan, or, like me, are you unconvinced?
For me the ombre idea is great, the black tips too, but the naked part of your nail is a bit too close to the first tone of pink.. maybe a soft pink beneath it would have given better contrast!
ReplyDeleteAhh these are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJazz x
Oh, i think ombre fishtail is a great idea, but perhaps another ombre colour for the tips too. Or, reverse the pink from dark to light at the tip~ hmm yeah, i'm not into the black tip either =/ haha! But do love the ombre fishtail chevron idea =D
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, we're totally on the same page! I was going to suggest doing an ombre in the opposite direction, going from black to light gray. :D
DeleteI think this was a wonderful idea! I like how each nail has a different color of pink polish & the black tips are my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally awesome! Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful effect!
ReplyDeleteOh I really like it! That's given me ideas. It would be cool to do this with other colours, maybe with different coloured or white base? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this look, but I think using a different color for the ombre would maybe make you like it better. Maybe you could use a shade of turquoise or green to make it pop more against the nude background instead of pink?
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooo nice, gonna have to give this look a try myself!!! :)

ReplyDeleteUmmmmm, the technique is flawless. I'm just not into the fishtail thing. I'm also not a fan of pink. Maybe that's why it doesn't strike me.

ReplyDeleteThis is a cute idea! I super love the ombre, and the colors you chose! I'm just sad with the black tips because it covers the ombre a little too much...
