This is what the scarf looks like for those of you who haven't seen it. Isn't it beautiful? I would love to own one, except for the price of course! Time to go searching for a cheaper alternative...
For my manicure, I started with a base of three coats of OPI Solitaire, a white Liquid Sand polish with small silver glitters. After letting it dry completely, I stamped on a pattern from Vivid Lacquer plate VL001 using Essie Licorice.
This was my first time stamping on a textured polish! It went just as well for me as any of the other stampings I've done, which is to say I had to fill in a couple of spots freehand. I've gotta stamp more often so eventually I won't have to do those touchups anymore.

Try H&M for the scarf... I swear I've seen something very similar there.
ReplyDeleteThat's just gorgeous! Sparkly skulls, I love it!
ReplyDeleteStamping always looks so nice, but I just can't seem to get it right... I'm afraid I'll have to accept I'm nailart-challenged and stick to glitters to spice up a mani.
This was awesome! I like your inspiration and it feels like I've seen cheaper copies of it.. but I'm not that in to fashion either so I can't tell which stores I've seen it in or if you even got those stores where you live.
ReplyDeletei love how u printed scarf on nails :) love this stamp
ReplyDeleteLove that! Those skulls look great on top of the textured polish!

ReplyDeleteLove love love!!! My best friend loves skull prints and this makes me think of her and she lives FAR away. Thanks for the nice thoughts! Hope these help:

Stamping over the textured polish really gives this depth! Great work, as always, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteI love the stamp over texture! Marta at ChitChatNails did it and said even the wear time on the stamp is good--she had some on for days and it didn't rub off! I was impressed.
ReplyDeleteI love skulls. This is one of my favourite manis you've done.
Also, good news.. I saw a skull scarf at Wal-Mart recently, and I think Target too. They are definitely out there!
Very cool! I have a very similar scarf from DSW for MUCH cheaper! I bought it last year, but I'm sure stores still have them.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! Stamping over texture looks great, and that scarf is really cool :)

ReplyDeleteKnock-off on ebay? You did an awesome job!
I only recognized this scarf because I happened to see it in a magazine this week. Definitely feel you about not being up-to-date on fashion. This works soo well with the textured polish!
ReplyDeleteLooooove it!!!
