The premiere is less than two weeks away, but I know you just can't wait until then. Never fear - I've got nearly 15 minutes of an actual episode ready for your consumption!
Don't forget to set your alarms, DVRs, calendars, and post it notes to catch the premiere on October 7th at 9/8c, only on Oxygen!
Still want more Nail'd It? Be sure to check out the the recap of my on-set visit for thoughts from judges Jan Arnold and Terrance Terry, and the host, Adrienne Bailon.

Awesome! Watching it now.
ReplyDeleteLet me know what you think!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a really fun show. I hope it is available to us in the UK. :)x
ReplyDeleteVery cool! Totally bummed that I don't have cable now, haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see this... I think I will be annoyed at the hyper-critical reviews by the judges though. Did anyone else dislike Latoya referring to that nail being an Ombre? Maybe that is just my personal definition of a gradient rather than an ombre. LOL
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I had cable for this show!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish they'd show the finished nails without all the editing effects. Especially the shaky ones!
ReplyDeleteYes. I was confused by this for a while. In actuality ombre and gradient mean the same thing. But she said it correctly. Most professional nail artist refer to it as ombre. I've seen many call it gradient. Then again Tom has a tutorial video where he calls it ombre so she very well may have called it that so as not to be corrected by him.
ReplyDeleteI would watch this all the time if I could! I can think that the review stage might be a bit much sometimes but I'd love to see what the different challenges are and what they come up with
ReplyDeleteomg I am quivering with excitement!! I have some thoughts:
ReplyDelete1. Do they prep all the models with long acrylics before they start? I wonder if the full length challenge segments will show them sculpting (with acrylic or gel) the nail itself.
2. I feel so proud of the blogging world while I'm watching this. Those are some talented nail artists on the show - but I didn't see any techniques that I was like, "omg what is this?" I know some freaking talented bloggers (**waves hi**)
3. Jan and Tom. Dying. omg.
I really enjoyed this! I just wish they would hold the camera still for ONE SECOND so I could look at the nails. LOL. There's no need to try and get all fancy with the photography! The weird zoom ins and outs hurt my brain. Hold still!
ReplyDeleteOk, off my rant...this show looks awesome and will be a great source of information for new techniques and ideas!
OMG! Is there any possibility to watch this online? I don't think I can watch the show on tv in Austria.
ReplyDeleteI watch a lot of competition shows, from modeling, to cooking and baking. I love those shows, but those are foreign worlds to me. I don't really understand most cooking terms, and I'm not in on the latest fashions. it is a unique feeling to be on the same knowledge level of these woman. I was yelling "that's stripping tape!" and "i just did a sponge gradient today too!" Because of that it feels dumbed-down to me. They were explaining things as if I had no idea what was going on. Clearly, if you put on stripping tape, then glitter, and then peal it off, it will leave the original color. Not that complicated! But I just love how nail art is becoming mainstream. Great progress for us!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! Maybe Oxygen will have full episodes online.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if they will have full episodes online or not -- I hope so!
ReplyDeleteHopefully they put the episodes online!
ReplyDeleteFair enough! Hopefully the main challenge will show the nails with a bit more detail.
ReplyDeleteI see where you're coming from, but I think the judges have to be critical to keep the show interesting. If everyone was lovey all the time, it might get old fast!
ReplyDeleteI know for the main challenge they do the nails on long falsies and then attach them to the models before the judging begins. Not sure how they do it for the Quick Dry Challenge though!
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's awesome for bloggers, and I even know some of the competitors from social media! Just goes to show how small a world it can be.
Haha indeed! I can't wait for it to air!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if Oxygen will have the episodes online or not!
ReplyDeleteI agree! And I can see why they are "dumbing everything down." This is a national TV show and people who know nothing about nail art will likely be watching! If they didn't explain things, people outside the community would never learn and would get frustrated.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree! I actually kind of meant if I were a participant in something like that, it would be stressful for someone to critique my work! I guess that's how you learn, though. I think it's because nails are just a hobby for me, I wouldn't have a problem with someone critiquing my actual job work.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see everything they're coming up with though, even the preview you posted was interesting for me because nothing they did was really my style but it looked great!
Ohh I see. Yeah, that would be terrifying! Props to all the ladies and gents that competed, for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to have the opportunity to check out the set! Looks like it will be an awesome show. I forgot this was just a preview and was excited to see who won. What a cliffhanger. :)
