Abstract Splattered Floral - OPI Neons Nail Art

I was recently playing around with the new Neons by OPI collection and thought they would be great in a handpainted splatter manicure. Very 80s, you know? As I built up the layers, the manicure started to look less like splatters and more like a loose floral, but I quite like it anyway!

I started by applying OPI's Put a Coat On!, which is a plain white meant to be used as a base under the neons.

Then, I used a small nail art brush to paint on some abstract splatter shapes with the following OPI neon shades:
Life Gave Me Lemons
You Are So Outta Lime
Down to the Core-al
Push & Pur-pull

I finished the manicure off with some handpainted black splatters for extra contrast.

What do you think -- is this look closer to splatters or a floral print?

  1. I think it works great! Reminds me of those 80's acid wash jeans with color blotches. I love it!

  2. It looks great! Very summer-y :) To me it looks more like flowers than splatter, but it looks awesome either way!

  3. Handpainted splatter is such a fun idea - and these do look very floral and pretty :)

  4. Love this! Such fun looking nails, perfect for this time of year!! :)

  5. I love how this mani looks! I see it more as abstract flowers than splatter but it's still beautiful!

  6. This is GORGEOUS! :)

  7. I love this! I saw your mani on OPI's Instagram, and I was like, "Hey, I follow her on Bloglovin!"

  8. I really like this look. It looks more like splatters than florals to me. :-)

  9. This is gorgeous! I love your creativity! I also see florals. Will definitely have to try this technique! <3

  10. At first I thought they were wraps. Beautiful mani!

  11. This is so pretty. I love that the splatters ended up looking like a floral design it just goes to show that when doing your nails you don't always have to be super precise :)

  12. I cannot wait to try this out! LOVE IT <3
