Aphrodite Lacquers: The SandBar Collection

Do you love jelly polishes? If so, you are in for a treat today! I'm showing off swatches of Aphrodite Lacquers' "The SandBar" collection, a selection of six different colored jellies named after different summery adult beverages. :)

These lacquers naturally dry smooth without any gritty glitter problems because of their jellylike nature. All swatches are topped with a coat of Seche Vite.

Rum Runner is a rich berry jelly with a few kinds of pink glitter. It's a sumptuous, luscious color. I've shown it here with three coats. The darker glitters in the contrasting base is lovely, and is reminiscent of seeds in a fruit. The glitter density in this one is really nice and it applied without hassle.

Margarita is an olive green jelly with various green glitters. I only needed two coats on this one. I like the color a lot, but I am not sure that it is totally representative of a bright yellow-green margarita. It's definitely unique though, I don't have any other olive green jellies in my collection!

Blue Lagoon is a sparkle-tastic blue jelly with three types of glitter. This one was the least opaque of the bunch. I used four coats in this photo and as you can see there is still a bit of visible nail line. The color is really bright and bold, and the glitter density is really high.

Mai Tai is a red jelly with various sizes of glitter. I only needed two coats of this one to be satisfied with the coverage. Red jellies are always lovely, I think. The only thing to note about this one was that the ratio of glitter to jelly base is a bit different than the others. Mai Tai may have less glitter, but it still packs a punch!

Grapetini is a vibrant magenta-purple jelly. I used three coats for this swatch. The color is really vibrant. It reminds me of those grape fruit bar popsicles! Can't you almost taste fruit flavor when you look at the juiciness of this polish? The glitter in this is cool; it almost adds texture more than it does blinginess.

Ambrosia is one of my favorites in the collection. The balance of the delicate pink jelly base with the darker glitters really makes this one stand out. There's just something about a light pink jelly that I love! I used three coats for this swatch. Everything applied evenly and the glitter wasn't fussy at all.

Overall, I think this is a great collection! There are a lot of reds/pinks/purples, but they are pretty different from each other and balanced out by the blue and green.
