Springtime pink and green gradient

Today's post features an OPI gradient and an indie glitter. Gradients are really picking up speed lately, and I think it's great! They are a really cool look, though sometimes they can be difficult to achieve.

There are many ways to do them, but the one that I used for this manicure was detailed by Rebecca in a tutorial.

I started with a base of OPI Mermaid's Tears. I had actually been wearing it alone for a day or so and then wanted to jazz it up a bit, so I sponged on a gradient with OPI If You Moust, You Moust.

My gradients aren't perfect (yet!) so I put Windestine Asbestos over the top to disguise any imperfections in the gradation. Besides hiding the inconsistencies, it just made the whole gradient look super cool and added a little flourish to the whole manicure.

I've seen two other methods recently for achieving a gradient look, and I want to try them both out. The first is the Madeleine Poole brush method which can be found on Teen Vogue, and the second is The Nailasaurus' tutorial which uses a sponge but in a bit of a different way.

This feels very springy to me and I enjoyed wearing it. Have you done any gradients lately? What is your preferred method?

Some of the products in this post were provided to me from the manufacturer or their PR.

  10. I love the colours you used, especially with the Asbestos on top! I do my gradients yet another way, where after painting my base colour, I paint stripes of the colours directly on to a sponge, and then dab it on. It works really well too! :)
